Movie in the Park – Aladdin August 22  at dusk (approx.. 9pm) Bring your chairs and blankets and join us for the brand new Aladdin movie!  Entry is by donation and snacks will be available for purchase.

Water Conservation Policy:  To avoid strain on our wells that may be caused by dry conditions, residents are asked to only water when necessary, and only every second day.  We ask that even numbered houses water on the even days of the month and odd numbered houses water on the odd days of the month.  Thanks for your assistance.

STOUGHTON DAZE – JULY 5 – 7
A weekend of entertainment for the whole family. 
The weekend kicks off Friday night with a golf tournament.  Saturday morning starts with the Firefighters pancake breakfast at the fire hall, followed by the Lions Club parade.  From there, a magician will entertain kids at the Library and events continue all day at the fairgrounds including kids games, a softball tournament, mud bogs, and volleyball tournament.  The New Hope Horse Club has horse shows and competitions happening both Saturday and Sunday.  Enjoy a beverage while listening to live music, fill up from the food booth, and make sure to check out the Stoughton Agriculture show, and outdoor market.  Sunday morning starts with the annual color run fundraiser.

SMAK ATTACK:  This is a friendly competition between Stoughton, Manor, Arcola and Kisbey for community cleanliness.  Please help by ensuring your yard and boulevard is trimmed and tidy and outdoor materials are properly stored.  Judging will take place on Wednesday, June 26.

The Town of Stoughton invites applications for the position of Public Works Assistant.  Applicants should submit a detailed resume giving references and expected salary by April 30, 2019.

The Stoughton Swimming Pool is accepting applications for a pool manager, lifeguards and lesson instructors for the 2019 season.  Full details available here.  Application deadline is March 4.

The Stoughton Golf & Country Club is accepting applications for Club House Manager and Greenskeeper.  Full details available here.  Application deadline is February 28.

The pool board is preparing for summer and wants you to get involved.  Their next meeting is February 13 at 7pm in Council Chambers and everyone is welcome to attend. 

Changes to Water & Sewer Rates:  Council has passed a new water and sewer bylaw with rates increasing 3% each year over the next three years.  The rise in charges reflects the increasing cost of providing services and repairing our aging infrastructure.  An infrastructure charge of $25 bi-monthly will also be implemented.  This revenue will be used for capital projects such as the main supply line replacement.  This increase will be in effect for the January billing.  A full copy of the bylaw is available here or at Town Office.

The Stoughton Dinner Theatre group would like to give a huge thank you to all of you who donated your time, brought food, bought tickets and helped out in any way to make this year’s play a huge success. A special thank you to all the businesses and the RM that support us yearly with sponsorships. Thanks to the continued support of our community we were able to raise just over $20,000 to put back into community groups and resources. Looking forward to another great production in 2019!

Curling is underway!  If you missed out on league play, there are still lots of opportunities to get involved.  The Bonspiel schedule has been set and drop in doubles curling takes place on Friday nights.

Newhope Ladies Auxiliary is looking for fancy cups and saucers.  Donations can be given to Auxiliary members or taken to Newhope Lodge.

Public Information Meetings are being held regarding the start up of a volunteer SARSAV Search and Rescue Chapter for the South East area of Saskatchewan. Meetings are arranged and hosted by a partnership between the RCMP Search and Rescue Team, SARSAV (Search and Rescue Saskatchewan Association of Volunteers), Estevan Police Service and Weyburn Police Service.
Meetings are scheduled for: 
Carnduff – January 16th, 7:00 PM at the Carnduff Education Complex
Carlyle – January 17th at 7:00 PM at the Memorial Hall – 111 Main St
Estevan – January 23rd at 7:00 PM at the Western Star Inn and Suites
Weyburn – January 24th at 7:00 PM at the City Works Building Classroom
A team such as this requires significant community support. All levels of interest are welcome. Please come out and support the development of this needed resource.

The Rink is Open!  Passes can be purchased at Town Office or the Stoughton Meat Market or daily fees can be paid at the rink drop box.  Sharpen your skates, bring a friend and have some fun.

When clearing driveways and sidewalks, all snow is to be shoveled onto your personal property and never onto the streets.

Need to get moving?  Yoga is held at the Stoughton Library every Wednesday at 6:30pm.  No mat?  No problem.  There are a few available to be borrowed.  Everyone Welcome!
