Komarnicki 2013 001Bill Knous is experiencing his first term as the Mayor of Stoughton, but previously served as a councillor.  Bill and his wife, Gloria, have been in Stoughton for 14 years, moving here after retiring as a Pit Foreman from the mines in Kamloops, BC.  Mr. Knous enjoys curling, golfing, hunting, skiing, fishing and more which keeps him busy through all the seasons.  He is involved in all Town committees and boards and wants to maintain the activities the Town currrently offers as well as encourage new growth.  He believes that community is important and wants to ensure that all citizens – young and old – are proud to call Stoughton their home.

Council Members:

Chelsea SchindelChelsea Schindel is quickly learning municipal politics after being elected as councillor in 2012.  Born and raised in Macoun, SK, Chelsea still lives there with his wife but spends most of his time in Stoughton as the owner and Pharmacist of Newhope Pharmacy.  He strongly believes in community and is a member of the Stoughton Chamber of Commerce.  When the time permits, Chelsea can be found creating and building, he loves carpentry and re-building old vehicles.  He also likes to fish and rides his motor bike.  Chelsea is grateful for the support of the community in his business and felt that being on council would give him a chance to give back to the community.

Danielle HoffmanDanielle Hoffman has lived in Stoughton for 7 years.  She came from Bon Accord, AB and moved here to be closer to her family.  Danielle is in her first term as a councillor after being elected in 2012.  She is the General Manager of the Poplar Tree Inn and is involved in the Stoughton Chamber of Commerce as the Secretary-Treasurer.  Danielle enjoys golfing, travelling with her husband, and spending time with family.   Danielle enjoys being on council as it allows her to be an active part of the community and have her opinion – and those around her – heard.

Pat Shiels was raised in Stoughton and when he moved away he knew Stoughton would always be home.  He came back in 2009 and plans to stay.  First nominated to council in 1979, Pat has been serving the town on and off until his most recent appointment in 2013.  As a contractor, Pat enjoys seeing the growth and rejuvenation that comes from hard work and believes anything can be accomplished if you work hard enough for it.  He is actively involved in Meals on Wheels and the local branch of the Royal Canadian Legion.  Pat is on council to improve the town and help encourage growth, both with people and businesses.
