Pursuant to Section 15 of The Local Improvements Act, 1993, notice is hereby given that the Council of the Town of Stoughton proposes to pass a bylaw to undertake the following local improvement:
Proposed Local Improvement:
Paving of Richardson Avenue
Location:
Richardson Avenue from Highway 47 to Highway 47
Proposed Timing:
Spring/Summer 2026
Council proposes to specially assess a portion of the cost of this local improvement against the lands benefited by the project.
The report prepared under Section 6 of The Local Improvements Act, 1993, outlining details of the proposed improvement, estimated costs, benefited properties, and payment options, is available below:
Petition Process
Owners of land to be specially assessed may petition against the proposed local improvement.
To be valid, a petition must:
Be submitted to the Town Office no later than 4:00 p.m. on February 27, 2026
Be signed by a majority of owners of lands to be specially assessed
Represent at least one-half of the assessed value of the affected lands not owned by the municipality
Council Consideration
Council will consider a bylaw respecting this matter at its regular meeting on:
